Michael Y. Dasaba is an accomplished Electrical Engineer and Project Management Professional with several decades of experience in the oil and gas and construction sectors. Renowned for his technical depth, operational leadership, and strategic oversight, he has played a vital role in advancing engineering excellence and project execution within Nigeria’s energy landscape.
Currently serving as Base Manager at Candid Oil Services Limited, Port Harcourt, a position he has held since 2000, Mr. Dasaba has been instrumental in overseeing base operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving efficiency across multiple engineering and maintenance projects. His leadership continues to strengthen Candid Oil’s reputation for safety, reliability, and service quality in the oil and gas sector.
Before joining Candid Oil Services Limited, Mr. Dasaba accumulated a wealth of industry experience through key roles including Contract Staff for Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), Contractor Inspector for SPDC East (1992–2000), and Project Manager at MESTEL (1992–1998). In these capacities, he delivered critical infrastructure projects, supervised electrical and instrumentation installations, and led commissioning efforts that enhanced operational capacity across several oil and gas facilities.
His core technical competencies span electrical installations, acceptance and commissioning, instrumentation inspection and commissioning, high and low voltage cable termination, and the upgrade of gas plants, flow stations, and oil terminal power systems. In addition, Mr. Dasaba possesses strong capabilities in logistics and supply chain management, ensuring seamless project delivery from concept to completion.
